What this site knows about you.

This site exists so people can read about David Oiaknin and his work. It is not a product, it does not have accounts, and it does not try to follow you around the internet.

It sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. It carries no advertising and no third-party tracking pixels. If you simply read these pages, the only record of your visit is a routine server log held by our hosting provider.

The one place you hand over information deliberately is the contact form — and only if you choose to use it.

If you write to us through the form on the contact page, we receive exactly the fields you filled in:

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this site, and are forwarded to an email address we monitor. They are read by David Oiaknin and, where appropriate, by people working with him on the matter you raised.

We use what you send to reply to you and to follow up on the subject of your enquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list without asking. We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. We share it with a third party only where a specific enquiry requires it, or where the law requires it.

The form includes a hidden field intended to catch automated spam. It is invisible to people and is ignored when a human fills the form in normally.

Like every website, this one sits behind a web server. Netlify keeps standard request logs, which can include your IP address, the pages requested, timestamps, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Netlify processes this data as our hosting provider under its own privacy terms.

The fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads, and your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request.

We mention this because most privacy policies quietly omit it. Nothing else on the site calls out to a third party — there is no analytics script, no social embed, no chat widget, no advertising network.

Contact form submissions are kept for as long as they are useful to the conversation they belong to, and are deleted when they no longer are. Server logs are retained on our hosting provider's ordinary schedule, which is short and measured in days rather than years.

If you would like your message and details removed sooner, ask, and we will remove them.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used. Residents of California and of the European Economic Area and United Kingdom have specific statutory rights along these lines.

We honour those requests regardless of where you live. Write to hello@davidoiaknin.com and tell us what you want done. We do not charge for this, and we will not make you jump through hoops. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to someone else.

We do not sell personal information, and we operate no financial incentive programme attached to it.

This site is written for a professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something through the form, tell us and we will delete it.

Where this site links out — to a company, a publication or a profile elsewhere — that destination has its own privacy practices, and ours stop at the edge of this domain. It is worth reading theirs before handing over anything.

If this site changes what it collects, this page changes with it, and the effective date at the top moves. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
